A 32-year-old nurse was found hanging inside a room at a guest house in Agra on Sunday. The woman, Kusum Kumari, is a native of Agra but was working in Delhi as a nurse.
According to ACP New Agra Aditya Singh, Kusum Kumari had come to meet her parents in Agra. After meeting them, she left the house without informing anyone where she was going.
After a few hours, she was found dead inside a room at Toran Guest House which is located in the Kamla Nagar area.
Singh said police had received information from the guest house staff that a woman had booked a room for a few hours saying she needed to rest for a few hours as her train was late.
However, after she did not come out of her room even after several hours past her checkout time, the guest house’s manager informed the police.
Police then found Kusum hanging from the ceiling fan in the room.
Her parents were informed about her death and police are trying to probe whether she met anyone at the guest house. Her parents said Kusum’s husband, Gabbar, is a security guard in Delhi and she had come to Agra alone as he could not accompany her.
As per a preliminary probe, police are treating the case as suicide but the CCTV cameras at the guest house are being checked.
