A student was killed after his bike collided head-on with another bike coming from the opposite direction of the road in Tamil Nadu’s Kanyakumari district. Two people were injured in the accident that was caught on CCTV camera.
The incident occurred around 8:30 pm on Sunday near Mekkamandapam.
The victim, Jijumon, was travelling with his friend Dhanish and on their way to Mulchal at the time of the incident. In the CCTV footage, the bike on which Jijumon and Dhanish were travelling, is seen going at a high speed when it collides with another bike driven by one John Jagan.
The impact was so strong that all the three people were thrown into the air and fell on the road. The two bikes sustained extensive damage as a result of the head-on collision.
Passers-by rushed to help them and took them to Thakkalai Government Hospital where Jijumon was declared brought dead. The other two, Dhanish and Jagan, were undergoing treatment.
Thakalai Police have registered a case and have initiated an investigation into the incident.
